HPYH Scholarship Opportunity

Supporting Our Players — On the Ice & Beyond

Hyde Park Youth Hockey (HPYH) is proud to award a $500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who has demonstrated commitment to hockey, academics, and community service.

This scholarship honors a well-rounded student-athlete whose HPYH experience has helped shape who they are today—and who they are becoming next.

• One (1) recipient
• One-time award of $500

👤 Who Can Apply

Applicants must:

• Graduate high school in Spring 2026
• Have participated in HPYH for at least four (4) years
• (Learn to Skate & Learn to Play do not count; years need not be consecutive)
• Be in good financial standing with HPYH
• Demonstrate a positive impact on their community
• Plan to attend one of the following:
• Accredited 2- or 4-year college or university
• Accredited trade or vocational school
• Accredited preparatory school
• U.S. Armed Forces enlistment

➡️ Applicants do NOT need to be currently playing hockey to apply.

📄 Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

• Official high school transcript
• Typed essay describing how HPYH shaped you
• (Focus on your contributions—past, present, and future. This should not be a college application essay.)
• Proof of acceptance to school or military enlistment
• Letter of recommendation
• From a non-family member
• Preferably a HPYH coach or school faculty member

• Application Deadline: April 1, 2026
• Board Review: April 2026
• Recipient Notification: May 2026
• Public Announcement: May 2026

📋 Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by the HPYH Board of Directors.

The recipient will be selected based on:

• Academic commitment
• Involvement with HPYH
• Service to others
• Character and leadership

⚠️ Scholarship Terms

By applying, you agree that:

• All required documentation and contact information will be provided
• You will enroll in an accredited school or provide proof of military enlistment
• You are in good standing with HPYH
• Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipient
• HPYH may publish your name and photo for recognition and promotion
• Children or family members of HPYH Board members are not eligible
• HPYH reserves the right to modify scholarship details if necessary
