Hyde Park Youth Hockey is 100% volunteer-run. From coaching and fundraising to running the snack bar and supporting events, we rely on the energy and generosity of our community.

No hockey experience? No problem—we have a role for everyone!



Coach / Assistant Coach

If you love hockey or enjoy working with kids, this is a rewarding way to get involved.

Requirements:

• USA Hockey Coaching Certification
• Background Screening
• SafeSport Training

Fueling our players—and our fans!

Our snack bar keeps spirits high and helps raise money for the program. It’s an easy and fun way for parents and supporters to pitch in rinkside.

When We Need Help:

• Practices, home games & tournament weekends
• Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, & Travel Team events
• Shifts available mornings, afternoons, and evenings

Volunteer Roles:

• Set-Up: Arrive early, prep snacks & drinks
• Sales: Run the register, serve food, restock items
• Clean-Up: Wipe surfaces, put items away, lock up
• Restocking: Pick up and drop off weekly supplies

⏱ Shifts typically last 60–90 minutes

Helping our kids skate further—one dollar at a time.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, HPYH depends on fundraising to:

• Keep registration affordable
• Cover ice time and equipment
• Support team events and outreach

You don’t need experience—just a willingness to help!

Volunteer Roles:

• Event Planner: Help organize raffles, tournaments, or team dinners
• Outreach Helper: Connect with local businesses for donations or sponsorships
• Marketing Support: Promote events or design flyers
• Item Collector: Gather raffle items, prizes, or baked goods
• Day-Of Help: Set up, sell tickets, assist during events

Types of Fundraisers:

• Raffles & 50/50 Drawings
• Annual Golf Tournament
• Restaurant Nights
• Online Campaigns

We host fun events throughout the season to celebrate players and families. Event volunteers make it all happen—and we need you!

• Set-Up Crew: Tables, signage, supplies
