Honoring the Legacy of Mark Bavis. Celebrating Youth Hockey at Its Best.

Each season, Hyde Park Youth Hockey travel teams have the honor of hosting the Annual Bavis Cup Tournament—a high-energy, community-centered event that pays tribute to the life and legacy of Mark Bavis.

Mark was a beloved Boston native, former HPYH player, Catholic Memorial and Boston University graduate, professional hockey player, coach, and NHL scout. On September 11, 2001, Mark tragically lost his life aboard United Flight 175 while traveling for work—doing what he loved most.

His legacy continues through the Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation, which supports youth development, mentorship, and access to opportunity for student-athletes across the region.
